A registered manager sits at the heart of every regulated social care setting, embedding the values and culture that drives their service. Sussex has over 1000 regulated adult social care services in Sussex with a registered manager who’s working hard to ensure that their service delivers the highest quality care to the people using the service and that their staff feel supported, recognised, and valued.
The Management Development Pathway is a repository of learning opportunities aimed at new and aspiring registered managers working in adult social care. Becoming a manager for the first time or taking on a management role in a different setting, can be a daunting experience especially where the role is as wide-ranging and complex as that of a registered manager. You may find yourself in a management position without having had any formal management training, skills, and knowledge specific to social care settings.
The content of the Management Development Pathway is aligned to the Management Induction Standards (MIS) as identified by Skills for Care. These standards set out the knowledge and skills needed to manage a service effectively and safely.
