East Sussex Wellbeing at Work Open Network Morning 

This free in-person event is open to all organisations across East Sussex, including VCSE groups, private businesses and public sector teams. It is designed for anyone looking to strengthen their workplace wellbeing offer, support staff with mental health and musculoskeletal health, and connect with other forward-thinking organisations.

Hosted by the Centre for Wellbeing at Work East Sussex, the morning will also feature guest speaker Jason Rawding, who will explore how workplace humour can build connection, support culture, and encourage positive change.

Winter Resilience Training for frontline workers 

Citizens Advice is offering free one-hour training sessions to help frontline staff support households with health, energy and money challenges this winter. The training is ideal for anyone who regularly works with the public, including health and care staff, council teams, emergency services, and community organisations.

Safeguarding Adults Week

Safeguarding Adults Week, taking place Monday 17th to Friday 21st November 2025 and promoted nationally by the Ann Craft Trust, is a time for organisations to come together to raise awareness of key safeguarding issues. This year’s theme is Prevention, with each day focusing on a different area of safeguarding.

Online sessions for Safeguarding Adults Week

To mark Safeguarding Adults Week, the East Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board will be hosting three online sessions:

Monday 17th November, 12:00pm – 13:00pm
Louise Patmore, Systems Change and Learning Lead at Changing Futures, will discuss how trauma-informed practice helps us understand why a person may make certain choices or display particular behaviours.

Sussex Digital In-Reach Team DSPT In-Person Workshops

These in-person workshops are for social care providers who are completing or updating their Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT).

The sessions will guide you step-by-step through each section of the toolkit, offering practical support to help you meet the required standards. Whether you’re publishing for the first time or republishing, you’ll gain the confidence and knowledge to ensure your toolkit is complete, compliant, and meaningful for your service.

Creating a positive workplace culture seminar

The National Day of Arts in Care Homes – 24th September 2025

Hosted by the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA), the National Day of Arts in Care Homes celebrates and promotes arts engagement in care settings. This year’s theme is Going Green, celebrating creativity through sustainability. From sculptures made with scrap materials to nature-inspired paintings and group projects using found objects, the focus is on exploring the artistic potential of recycled, reused and natural materials.

National Conference: #StrongerTogether

Skills for Care Deputy Manager Networks

Building on the success of their Registered Manager Networks, Skills for Care has developed dedicated networks for deputy managers, team leaders and aspiring leaders. These virtual sessions offer a supportive space to connect with peers, share experiences, explore challenges and develop practical solutions together.

The networks aim to boost confidence and equip participants with tools and techniques to support their development, helping to ensure services remain well-led and consistently deliver high-quality care.

Each session is facilitated by a Skills for Care Locality Manager and focuses on topics relevant to deputies, team leaders and aspiring leaders.
