Opportunities now exist for social care professionals to develop clinical skills and to work as part of the wider health and social care team as an assistant practitioner in a range of settings. They will have direct contact with patients, service users or clients providing high quality and compassionate care.
Assistant Practitioners work at a level above that of Healthcare Support Workers and gain a more in-depth understanding about factors that influence health and ill-health. This training is available via a variety of routes including an apprenticeship at Level 5.
