Care Business Networking session for Providers

Care providers are invited to join the first in a new series of Care Business Networking events at Malmaison Brighton on Thursday 11th June 2026, 09:30am – 11:30am.

The event aims to bring providers together to explore some of the key challenges and opportunities facing the sector, including:

  • Workforce challenges
  • Financial sustainability
  • CQC readiness
  • Innovation
  • Business continuity

East Sussex Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Champions Awards Event

The ESCC Public Health team are hosting this event to celebrate the commitment of IPC Champions who completed training between April 2024 and March 2025. The event will provide an opportunity to learn, network and reflect on best practice in infection prevention and control. IPC Champions and managers from all care homes in East Sussex are invited to participate.

St Michael’s Hospice – Education and Awareness Event

This half-day event is open to health and care professionals across Sussex. It will showcase a range of projects and initiatives developed by St Michael’s Hospice to enhance care and support for people using their services.

Safeguarding Adults Symposium

This free, in-person safeguarding symposium is for adult social care providers across Sussex. The event will explore how safeguarding activity is changing over time, emerging and persistent risks, and how trend data can inform resource planning, risk focus, training needs and preventative action.

The day will also reflect on practice developments since the September 2024 conference, explore updates to the Care Act, and share case studies highlighting effective safeguarding practice across services.

Care provider workshops: Making the Most of Your Sponsorship

These half-day workshops are for adult social care providers in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove who sponsor internationally recruited staff under the UK Skilled Worker visa route.

The practical, in-person sessions will offer clear, accessible guidance to help providers manage sponsorship responsibilities with confidence and reduce compliance risk. They will cover:

  • Meeting sponsorship compliance duties
  • Reducing the risk of licence suspension or revocation
  • Applying supplementary working rules correctly
  • Identifying and addressing early compliance risks
  • Strengthening ethical sponsorship practices and workforce stability

These workshops are part of a newly launched Ethical Sponsorship Programme, designed to strengthen sponsorship practice, support internationally recruited care professionals, and reduce the risk of avoidable sponsorship breakdown across East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.
