Safeguarding Adults Week, taking place Monday 17th to Friday 21st November 2025 and promoted nationally by the Ann Craft Trust, is a time for organisations to come together to raise awareness of key safeguarding issues. This year’s theme is Prevention, with each day focusing on a different area of safeguarding.

Online sessions for Safeguarding Adults Week

To mark Safeguarding Adults Week, the East Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board will be hosting three online sessions:

Monday 17th November, 12:00pm – 13:00pm
Louise Patmore, Systems Change and Learning Lead at Changing Futures, will discuss how trauma-informed practice helps us understand why a person may make certain choices or display particular behaviours.

Tuesday 18th November, 13:00pm – 14:00pm
Steve Broome, from East Sussex County Council’s Policy and Strategy Team, will present the Council’s Prevention Strategy.

Thursday 20th November, 12:30pm – 13:30pm
Lisa Priestman, East Sussex Fire and Rescue, will discuss preventative safeguarding practice, including their work around home fire safety checks, hoarding, and self-neglect.
