Changes to data protection legislation

The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 became law in June and brings in important updates to the way personal information is handled across the UK. The aim is to make it easier and safer to access, share, and protect data across both public and private services. This has particular relevance for adult social care, especially around improving data sharing between organisations and setting clear expectations for how information should be managed.
